Discovery of electric Mountain Bike in Le Grand Bornand Chinaillon for children age 6 to 12.

Key points of this course:

  • Group of 5 children max: in small groups for more safety and attention to your children
  • Tours on various terrains
  • Fun and technical workshops to improve
  • Option: a fun and educational tour with a treasure hunt, with a map and a compas to teach the kids how to orientate themselves in the mountains while trying to find the Marmotte delicious treats for lunch.

Included in the course price (3 2-hour sessions : 150€)

  • Supervision by a mountain bike instructor.
  • Rental of a semi-rigid electric mountain bike for the 3 sessions (for children from 1m20 to 1m55)
  • All the protection kit of the mountain biker (helmet and gloves yes, but also kneepads and elbow pads for more security)
  • The first aid kit carried by the instructor.
  • Mechanical assistance.

Option : What is included in the 4th half day (+1 session of 3h30 at 60€)

  • Everything that was included in the basic course
  • Gourmet picnic (local cheese and ham, bread, blueberry dessert)
  • A treasure map in the form of a life-size treasure hunt

NB: kids are allowed from age 6, as soon as their height (1m15) and level allows them to participate. The indicated price include the rental of a kids electric bikes for height 1m15 à 1m53. Exception on request (up to 13 years old, extra charge for using an adult bike size S)

Description

Program:

  • 3 half-days of electric mountain biking (+1 optional)
  • Starting point: Arav’e-Bike office in Chinaillon or Ludoparc in Grand Bornand Village
  • Gentle initiation and confidence building through playful exercises
  • Option: 1 longer session (3h30) at the end with an introduction to mountain orientation via a treasure hunt, picnic included (+60€)
  • Monday and Tuesday 9h30 – 11h30 + 1 session morning or afternoon during the week (depending on planning)
  • + Option: Wednesday 9h30 to 1pm : Treasure Hunt and Orientation in the mountains (+picnic)
  • 4 children minimum to ensure the start of the course.

Technical level: DISCOVERY

If your child doesn’t ride a bike or mountain bike much, this is a great opportunity to introduce thim/her to a new sport! Accessible thanks to the electric assistance, fun and allowing to reach nice places in a short time. Our instructor will give your child all the advice he needs to get the hang of your bike and quickly become comfortable on it. You can have a look at our level finder.

Physical level: REGULAR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY / FIT

The session represents a little more than 1H30 on the saddle to pedal. If your child walks regularly or does another physical activity or sport regularly, he or she will have no worries about keeping up. The electric assistance smoothes the physical levels, it helps considerably, however the child remains the activator of the motor. Please don’t hesitate to ask to find out your level!

Not included:

  • The Smart Marmotte damage insurance covers against the breakage of an item on the bike during the ride.
  • Transport to the starting point.
  • Personnal insurance.
