The Aravipercée ride: A sporty guided tour around the Aravis mountain chain for sporty and advanced bike riders.
Program:
- Meeting and return point: Arav’e-Bike shop in Le Chinaillon. Be there 30 minutes in advance.
- Natural trails to ride on our way to Les Confins’ lake in La Clusaz
- 5-hour long tour with coffee stop at the top, sandwich break and gondola lift up.
Technical Level: ADVANCED
Do you ride on the mountains often? Do you like to enjoy the views as much as using your strenght to get to the top and mastering your bike to get down? You are not afraid to hike a bit pushing your bike uphill (using the walk mode of your electric bike;)) This tour around Le Grand Bornand, les Confins et La Clusaz is to delight you. Some downhill trails in Le Danay (before using the lift up) will be blue to black level, depending on your instructor choice based on the group’s level he observed. The instructor will choose the more appropriate trail down to stick to the group member’s levels. You will keep in mind a great satisfying feeling, a tingly feeling in your legs and beautiful images in your mind. Check out our Level finder or get in touch if you need help.
Physical Level: IN VERY GOOD SHAPE
On this 5-hour tour, you will pedal about 32 kilometers on your bike. You might have to push your bike up a rocky trail (less than 10 minutes) Good pace on this tour, with some stops for coffee, snack or lift-up in the gondola. We recommend this tour to people who ride mountain bike often and practice some cardio sport like running.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, it is highly recommended to book in order to make sure the instructor and a bike adapted to your height is available.
The minimum number of participants is set at 3 or 4 depending on the type of course. An accompanied outing cannot take place if the minimum number of people is not reached. You will then be offered a refund or a modification of your reservation.
For everyone’s comfort, we limit our grops to 6,8 or 10 depending on the type of tour and the level. For private groups, please get in touch.
During a group outing, everyone has more fun when the level is the same. Depending on the outing (duration and level), we accept children from 5 years or 1m15 if they are autonomous and know how to ride a bike (braking, pedaling, turning, standing up). If not, we recommend you enroll your child in our ” children’s discovery” course.
Our groups are composed by level so that everyone has a good time. Don’t hesitate to call us to discuss your level or to consult our level finder so that we can choose the best level together. If the level of the group is too different, we will suggest you to change the group or the schedule in order to ensure the safety and the satisfaction of all.
The price include the instructor guidance, maintenance of the bike, rental of the bike and the protection kit: helmet, gloves, knee abd elbow protections. The tour can include a snack or meal.
As a rule, the starting point is at our office in Chinaillon. However, some outings outside of Grand Bornand may start from another location, in which case the meeting place will be specified on your reservation summary. Thank you for being punctual.
- We take the time to listen to everyone’s expectations, desires and level ideas. Then we adjust the bikes to the body size of each participant.
- A short time to get used to the bike on a road or 4×4 track to discover the bike and the use of the engine.
- Depending on the type and level of the outing, the instructor can give advice or suggest practical exercises to improve, or simply guide you if you wish.
- An animation or a snack/meal can be included on the course.
- Back to the starting point, bike check and debriefing.

Visiting Le Grand Bornand off-season?
Good idea! Spring and fall are marvellous seasons to discovery the Aravis mountains. The trails are less crowded. Our office is open summertime and during weekends only in the spring and fall. The rest of the time, please call us or email us to organise your e-MTB escape.
