- Supervision by a qualified instructor with experience in teaching mountain biking, E-bike and DownHill.
- Rental of an all-suspension electric mountain bike adapted to the Enduro practice

Description
The Araviwood: A jump into the world of Downhill riding for expert mountain bikers, with no cablecars.
Program:
The Araviwood will unwind the beast in you!
- Meeting and return point: Arav’e-Bike shop in Le Chinaillon. Arrive half an hour early.
- Adjustment depending on everyone’s weight and instructor explanations.
- Outing between 3H and 3H30 depending on the level of the group.
Technical level : ADVANCED to EXPERT
With 40% of the course on trails and 50% on paths, it is necessary to have an excellent level of riding and crossing to enjoy this supervised outing. Please make sure you have the Expert (or Advanced+) level according to our level guide to enjoy the outing but also to avoid injury or delaying the group.
Physical level : SPORTS
We may use electric mountain bikes for this outing, but that’s not all. We spent more than 2 hours and 20 minutes on the saddle, pedaling at a good pace with some steep climbs of more than 20%. After the effort, the comfort of the descent in singles specially marked for you.
Not included:
- The Marmotte Futée insurance for 3€ which covers you against the breakage of an item on your bike during the outing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, it is highly recommended to book in order to make sure the instructor and a bike adapted to your height is available.
The minimum number of participants is set at 3 or 4 depending on the type of course. An accompanied outing cannot take place if the minimum number of people is not reached. You will then be offered a refund or a modification of your reservation.
For everyone’s comfort, we limit our grops to 6,8 or 10 depending on the type of tour and the level. For private groups, please get in touch.
During a group outing, everyone has more fun when the level is the same. Depending on the outing (duration and level), we accept children from 5 years or 1m15 if they are autonomous and know how to ride a bike (braking, pedaling, turning, standing up). If not, we recommend you enroll your child in our ” children’s discovery” course.
Our groups are composed by level so that everyone has a good time. Don’t hesitate to call us to discuss your level or to consult our level finder so that we can choose the best level together. If the level of the group is too different, we will suggest you to change the group or the schedule in order to ensure the safety and the satisfaction of all.
The price include the instructor guidance, maintenance of the bike, rental of the bike and the protection kit: helmet, gloves, knee abd elbow protections. The tour can include a snack or meal.
As a rule, the starting point is at our office in Chinaillon. However, some outings outside of Grand Bornand may start from another location, in which case the meeting place will be specified on your reservation summary. Thank you for being punctual.
- We take the time to listen to everyone’s expectations, desires and level ideas. Then we adjust the bikes to the body size of each participant.
- A short time to get used to the bike on a road or 4×4 track to discover the bike and the use of the engine.
- Depending on the type and level of the outing, the instructor can give advice or suggest practical exercises to improve, or simply guide you if you wish.
- An animation or a snack/meal can be included on the course.
- Back to the starting point, bike check and debriefing.

Visiting Le Grand Bornand off-season?
Good idea! Spring and fall are marvellous seasons to discovery the Aravis mountains. The trails are less crowded. Our office is open summertime and during weekends only in the spring and fall. The rest of the time, please call us or email us to organise your e-MTB escape.
